Oracle System Engineer/Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location: Waals-Brabant
Start Date: As soon as possible
Work Arrangement: Onsite 2 days, remote 3 days

Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, administer, maintain, and manage the global Oracle RDBMS infrastructure on Linux environments.
- Assist in the design, planning, and implementation of the Global Oracle RDBMS environment.
- Develop and maintain configurations, deployment and maintenance utilities, documentation, procedures, and practices.
- Define and maintain capacity and disaster recovery plans and facilities.
- Coordinate and administer Oracle RDBMS installations, configurations, troubleshooting, and maintenance on Linux OS.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the server operating system, Oracle RDBMS, applications, affiliated software, and Data Center Infrastructure.
- Assist with vendor-supplied upgrades, patches, and virus updates related to Oracle RDBMS.
- Work with internal and external contractors and support personnel for operational tasks.
- Ensure incident management and resolution within defined SLAs.
- Support project and architecture teams in understanding Oracle RDBMS and server requirements.
- Utilize and maintain software tools for monitoring and managing Oracle RDBMS systems, capacity, and performance.
- Perform system testing and regulatory validations of the Oracle RDBMS environment.
- Stay updated on new technologies and suggest improvements for Data Center and server team agility, performance, and reliability.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5 years of demonstrated work experience in Oracle RDBMS Environment.
- Experience in a regulated and process-focused computing environment preferred.
- Experience in hardware (VMware) preferred.
- Deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, including memory structures, process architecture, and storage structures.
- Proficient in Oracle Database versions from 11g upwards.
- Advanced expertise in tablespaces, schema management, indexing strategies, and partitioning.
- Expert knowledge of Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN) and Flashback Technologies.
- Expertise in SQL tuning, execution plans, and analyzing performance bottlenecks.
- Experience with Oracle Data Guard and Active Data Guard.
- Proficient in implementing database security policies.
- Expertise in performing database migrations and upgrades.
- Proficient with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and Oracle SQL Developer.
- Strong diagnostic and analytical skills with a proactive, detail-oriented focus.
- Effective communication skills in English and French.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in the pharmaceutical environment is a plus.
- Experience in migrations from Oracle to Postgres.
- Experience in Oracle Licensing Management.
- Knowledge of OEM.
- Experience with RedHat to VMWare Firewall for Industrial applications.
- Experience in migration to another technology.
