Location: Brussels

Work Arrangement: 50% on-site & 50% homeworking

Role Description:

The Senior Java Developer with Tech Lead responsibilities will be responsible for elaborating or adapting detailed technical designs and programming code in the context of a project or asset, according to enterprise standards, while considering required quality and performance levels. The role also involves managing delivery, IT stakeholders, and following up on dependencies. The Senior Java Developer will perform unit testing of the developed code and assist during implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Elaboration of detailed technical design.
• New development or maintenance of code in Java, or package parameterization according to enterprise standards.
• Conducting unit testing.
• Estimation of development workload or validation of the workload estimated by the project or asset manager.
• Contribution to the preparation of the installation in production, including integration and assembly testing.
• Supporting test management in the execution of tests, including bug fixing.
• Quality review of detailed design and code provided by external suppliers.
• Documentation of development activities (design, code, unit testing, code review).
• Overseeing the delivery of projects to ensure they meet quality and performance standards.
• Engaging with IT stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
• Monitoring and managing dependencies to ensure timely project completion.

Language Requirements:

• Dutch: At least one local language (FR or NL)
• French: At least one local language (FR or NL)
• English: Sound knowledge of English as well as (at least) one local language

Required Experience/Knowledge:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience.

• Delivery management experience.
• Preferable experience in software architecture, DevOps expertise, and cloud knowledge.
• Security acumen.
• Experience with Scrum is preferable.
